It’s the city that molded you into the person you are today, infusing you with grit, compassion, and endless ambition. 

As a recipient of the CityDoctors NYC Health + Hospitals Scholarship at St. George’s University, you can gain an internationally recognized medical education and give back to the city that you love.

Full and partial scholarships are awarded based on academic merit and financial need to eligible students accepted into the Doctor of Medicine program’s January entering class. Upon completion of their residency training, recipients pledge to practice primary care in an NYC Health + Hospitals institution. 

To qualify for the CityDoctors NYC Health + Hospitals Scholarship, an applicant must be a US citizen or permanent resident accepted into the Doctor of Medicine program at St. George’s University and meet one of the following conditions: 

  • Have a permanent address in New York City for the past five years* 
  • Have graduated from a New York City high school, college or university 
  • Have a parent employed by the City of New York or HHC, or be employed themselves by the City of New York or HHC, for at least five years
